Overview
The project looked to address the pressing training needs of the Canadian Public Transit Industry by designing the most advanced and cost-effective PC-based training environments.
The Transport-Transit sector estimates that 40% of transit operators will be retiring in the next decade, while the influx of new hires to replace them will rise accordingly. The loss of experienced
employees could result in a massive loss of knowledge relating to safe and effective operating procedures while instructor-led training methods were incurring significant costs.
The project was reinforced with a nation-wide team of transit industry training experts (VIA Rail, STM, CANAC, New Flyer) assembled and spearheaded by the Canadian Urban Transit Association.
Our Mandate
To convert instructor-led operations and maintenance training to WEB-based and Simulation-Based Training formats. Key objective were to reduce training time and costs and to provide tools able to capture knowledge and experience from valued employees and subject matter experts.
